Marina Mausi — Emerald Shadow of Dawn

She turns — not toward you, but toward something you cannot yet see. Her gaze is open, wide, northern: the kind of eyes that have watched the sun refuse to set, that have learned patience from the slowness of Arctic light. From her lavender-white scalp, emerald leaves grow like thoughts she no longer needs to hide. Her dress is the deep teal of a forest pond at midnight — scattered with light, alive with quiet. At her shoulder, a Sphynx cat rests like a familiar spirit, ancient and unblinking, sharing her stillness. Part of the series “Goddess of the White Nights” — portraits of earthly femininity that glow from within with northern twilight — this work carries the undertone of myth without surrendering to it. Luminous figurative portraits of archetypal women, shaped by neo-pop aesthetics and a former life in aerospace engineering.
