About the Work

A female figure dissolves into light — or perhaps assembles from it. The face of Aelita emerges from a constellation of luminous spheres: coral, turquoise, rose, pearl — scattered across a deep black ground like particles of a memory that never existed, yet feels achingly familiar. Part of the series “Matter of Light. Female Forms.”, this work explores the threshold between body and energy, presence and disappearance, the material and the cosmic. The neo-punk figure — cool, interior, eyes closed — suggests not loss but transformation: a self caught mid-flight between one form and another. Named after Aelita, the iconic queen of Mars from Soviet science fiction, this painting speaks to longing for a world that exists only in imagination — and the strange grief of remembering something you never lived

About the Artist

Luminous figurative portraits of archetypal women, shaped by neo-pop aesthetics and a former life in aerospace engineering.
