Nina Timoshenko — Hearts on a branch

In this painting I explore a quiet moment of closeness between two figures sitting together on a swing suspended from a tree branch above the water. The landscape is calm and open, with evening light reflecting on the surface of the river and soft greenery surrounding the scene. The characters have cherry-shaped heads — a recurring symbolic element in my work. Here the cherries resemble two hearts connected by a single stem, suggesting emotional closeness, tenderness, and the fragile balance between two people sharing a moment. Painted in a naïve contemporary style, the composition combines simplified forms, bright natural colors, and a slightly surreal visual metaphor. The work reflects on intimacy, stillness, and the quiet harmony that can exist between two people within the natural world. Shipping is at the buyer's expense; the painting is shipped in a box.

Naive form and poetic surrealism: paintings in which familiar reality quietly slips into the impossible.
