Fatimie Ashyrova
Ireland
Still lifes and floral abstractions exploring light, colour and the quiet poetry of everyday life.
Biography
Fatimie Ashyrova is a contemporary artist based in Ireland, working across painting, still life and abstraction. Her practice explores light, colour and atmosphere, transforming familiar subjects into vibrant and contemplative visual experiences. Working in acrylic, oil and mixed media, Ashyrova combines simplified forms, expressive brushwork and rich colour relationships to create paintings filled with warmth, harmony and quiet optimism. Flowers, fruit and domestic objects become a way of exploring the poetry of everyday life, while her floral abstractions translate these observations into more intuitive and emotionally charged compositions. Her artistic language is influenced by modernist approaches to colour and form, with references including Henri Matisse, Georgia O’Keeffe, David Hockney and Wayne Thiebaud. Rather than simply depicting her subjects, Ashyrova uses them as a starting point for exploring mood, rhythm, light and emotional atmosphere. After returning to painting later in life and relocating to Ireland, she developed her practice through independent study alongside formal training in classical drawing and painting. Her work reflects this combination of observation and experimentation, balancing recognisable imagery with a contemporary, expressive approach. Ashyrova’s paintings invite the viewer to slow down and find moments of calm, beauty and renewal within the everyday.
