Maria Melkova — Autumn Memories Study: still life with poppies and sunflowers, in a black and white vase with stripes and circles on a purple, pink, sky-blue background

The artwork Autumn Memories Study is a contemporary still life created with oil on canvas mounted on cardboard (60×40 cm). Inspired by the expressive energy of Van Gogh and Henri Matisse, this work immediately attracts attention with its vibrant colors and playful composition. The piece features sunflowers and poppies of various shapes and sizes arranged in a transparent vase. The vase itself is modern, black-and-white, decorated with polka dots and stripes, which brings a dynamic and current touch to the scene. A unique feature of the painting is its black-primed canvas, which makes the entire composition appear to glow. Gentle pastel tones in the background softly illuminate the flowers, while bold impasto brushstrokes add texture, depth, and a sense of motion. The combination of impressionist expressiveness with elements of naive art makes this still life truly unique. The color palette is built on contrasts - rich yellow, red, black, white, and lilac. This creates a joyful, energetic mood, filling any space with warmth and individuality. Autumn Memories Study is an excellent choice for decorating a living room, office, creative studio, or as a distinctive gift. Crafted in the dopamine art style, this piece brings a boost of positivity and happiness through its vivid colors and unexpected details. It is ideal for contemporary art collectors, lovers of original works, and those who appreciate romantic art. The artwork will be sent in a box.
